Peanuts Unoriginal

I just can't afford to buy a Peanuts original, and I didn't know when I was younger that Schulz just gave away his originals to fans right and left, so I had to make my own.

India ink with a Zebra G on Crescent board. Two feet wide (!) just like the original.

  1. I'm personally blown away by this. Schulz's style is by far one of the hardest to imitate because it IS so simple. I'm not sure how you could do this so well

  2. My wife is a huge peanuts fan...she loved this idea :)

(Maybe in the future when my own talent becomes a fraction of yours I can do something like this for her ;) )

  3. Thanks, guys, but I just blew it up and carbon-traced it onto the board. The only tricky thing was inking it. I think I could have copied it freehand pretty accurately, but I wanted it to look as close as possible to the original. I did transpose the first two panels, though, so it could be differentiated from the original (which just sold for $40,000, I think.) I'll post the original, too.
