Sparky on Charlie Rose

The part with Schulz starts about 20 minutes into the show.

One thing we have in common is that both our strips started out in seven newspapers. Another is that we always knew we wanted to be cartoonists. That's about it, though! I didn't quite make it to that level of success.

Amazing. I would also recommend his biography.

My bible is a Schulz biography I bought as a kid, called Charlie Brown and Charlie Schulz. It's pretty worn out now.

I'm reading the new one. It's enjoyable, but it feels like the writer is getting in the way of the story a little bit. Almost like he's showing off how much he knows about Sparky. Otherwise, it's a very enjoyable read. Hey, you should scan the cover of Charlie Brown and Charlie Schulz. I'm going to google it right now.

I'm buying it from ebay for 8 bucks.

Cool! I think you'll like it. It is kinda white-washed, but is pretty thorough as far as Peanuts goes. And it was published when Schulz was at the peak of his career.

I think I bought it for about $1.49 new.
