Ebay's new fees are ridiculous. I would be paying it $40 to $50 to sell my laptop. Where did this come from? Sellers are talking strike!
I ran across a new online auction. It is called OLA . They're sponsoring a contest to promote their auction on YouTube. The top prize is $5,000 to whomever males the best video promoting OLA. If you know Flash or like making videos, could be interesting!

Why ebay? There are thousands of websites where you can sell your products!

Been using GEMM for years for music.

Seems a lot of people are becoming more and more disgusted with ebay. They drive away sellers with their constant fee increases and then drive away buyers for having driven away sellers.
For selling a laptop, try OLA, eBid, or eCrater. Craigs List is good too.
There are much better alternatives. I am part of the Kaqoo network http://www.homeschoolresources.thruhere.net/
That is my site. I cater more to the home schooler but you can sell your laptop or anything you want for free. Some sites have a minimal fvf like 2-3%. If you visit my site and want to list in a category I don't have up let me know I will add it for you. go to www.kaqoo.com to see all the categories. Currently we have about 30,000 items up for sell across the network.
hate ebay too & paypal is horrible but like a fly on sh** (ebay being the piece of doo doo ofcourse!) this is all I know. Got my first frivolous negative feedback the other day from a newbie who doesn't understand how important feedback can be. They (buyers) have no consequences now for their actions & that down right SUX I boycotted for a whole week last time so let me know a strike date I am so game. I do love CL though
ebay SUCKS
they suspended me for 2 weeks and closed down my 175 listings for selling items to a seller/buyer in my own town. my favorite seller where I saved money on shipping and could always pick up my stuff. they said it was shilling.they can kiss my big fat ass. I my so upset.it is completely outrages!
I HATE THEM
Ebay has become a horrible experience. Fees, feedback changes - I sell old auto parts, and the neg feedbacks from buyers who are nothing but 'window shoppers' is rediculous. There is nothing holding these people back anymore, they constantly try to extort lower prices, refunds, better deals. Ebay gives the seller absolutely no alternative but to sit there and take it. My account was shut down for 5 neg feebacks in a month, I have no further desire or need to sell on ebay. Ebay does, in fact, suck bigtime.
YES EBAY SUCKS AND IT SUCKS FOR SELLERS RIPPED OFF BY SOME LYING &%^$# THAT REPORTED THEM TO SO CALLED OFFICIALS. ANYONE CAN GET YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND USE IT TO BUY OR BID. YEP THEN I GET SUSPENDED FOR SOMEONE USING MY EMAIL ADDRESS. EBAY CAN GO TO HELL I QUIT AND JOINED 4 OTHER AUCTION SITES. EBAY IS OWNED AND RUN BY A BUNCH OF Nazies. Rat out yourselves.
Ebay sucks bigtime, I quit after 8 years on 3 ebay sites. Everybody I know quit Ebay. Ebay just about weeded out all the regular sellers including me with thier new feedback system. A person with 99 cents to spend and 0 feedbacks has more say so with Ebay than any power seller has. Bidders now bid up everything and then they dont pay for it yet ebay will still charge you and you have to jump thru all sorts of hoops and wait for weeks to get your money back. Ebay informed me that I cant write anything bad about a buyer -let alone leave a negative or neutral feedback or ebay will kick you off. Also a neutral is now not really a neutral - it counts just the same as a negative. EBAY SUCKS!
I could not agree more; eBay sucks worse all the time. After years of being an eBay powerseller, and paying eBay tens of thousands of dollars, we are finally leaving eBay for good.
It seems that every time eBay makes changes, they make things worse for the seller and raise the cost at the same time.
We have had enough, eBay is just not worth the hassle and outrageous fees any more.
Down with eBay! eBay has done so many wrongs to it's sellers of many years who built the site up that it would take pages to list it all. Ebay has driven many good sellers away with their unfair changes and dictator ways. Many sellers around the world got fed up with being told how to run THEIR BUSINESS and what they could do with THEIR BUSINESS and what types of payments they could take with THEIR BUSINESS. So these sellers have boycotted and yes the boycott is still going and making a difference. Ebay says No but eBay has sent out coupons for this and that, padded their listings with Buy.com items, suspended or threatened to suspend sellers for all kinds of reasons and more. Right now eBay is the biggest scammer of all time. Sellers are leaving - many have opened their own web sites, many have listed on other sites and the newest site that is growing FAST is GoZbay.com and will be the next top auction site.
I am glad I am not the only seller on eBay a little put off by some of the recent changes there. I am attempting to continue my courteous and respectful use of eBay. It is becoming more difficult. Without accusations, or impropriety, I am getting a little perturbed...no a lot perturbed with the changes that take place WITHOUT the input of the sellers. It seems to me that there should be some sort of 'democratic' principle employed there at eBay when it comes to 'rule changes', but I am missing it. No longer do I get a credit for changing a starting price or reserve price? When and why did that happen? No longer can I leave negative feedback for buyers who refuse to pay or attempt extortion? The change was made under the guise that we need to keep the buyers from feeling intimidated into leaving positive feedback because they fear retribution. Help me here. Where, oh where, can I have the same protection....at the "non-paying bidder" report area? I guess I am missing where this holds the buyer accountable. As an honest seller, these changes are bad. eBay is trying to drive more business to the site at the expense of the very people who made the site...the sellers. Yes, without buyers, there would be a problem...but without sellers...hang it up! The notion that "oh, good sellers don't mind these changes because it holds them accountable" is wrong in my humble opinion....but I must be alone. Buyer remorse seems to now be an acceptable form of contention. My reputation was built on good selling practices AND logical and pragmatic approaches to non-paying, scam bidders. The approach now is to 'allow' me to do a lot more work, file a non-paying bidder report and hope that someone slaps their wrists. I know they are often allowed to continue as long as they don't do this 'too often'. Unacceptable. I have to do all the work in a sometimes complicated system, follow through and follow up, and bad buyers continue to operate, change names, start over, and scam someone else. These type changes sometimes are the result of greed, but maybe soemtimes they are the result of a poorly conceived reproach to a problem. It appears to me that common sense has somehow been replaced with the philosophy that buyers ALONE drive the marketplace. It is both...good buyers and good sellers that drive the market place. Show me any other company that would allow a non-paying bidder to continue to operate. Show me any other company that does not have the option to leave a negative comment (a credit report filing) on poor buyers. We have lost our direction at the expense of driving potentially MORE poor buyers to the site, fearing no retribution or consequences for their actions, in my opinion. I think it is time that we actually boycott eBay....HOW DO WE REALLY GET THE WORD OUT? What if everyone took turns ovber a four or five day period of postiing to their favorite discussion groups the time and dates of a boycott...and then we just did it? I'll bet we could get ENOUGH people to make a dent. I keep hearing that the philosophy has not changed. I keep hearing that but I certainly see something different.
I can't even put into words how much I hate eBay. And I have got legitimate reason to. I was a member for 10 years! They suspended my account for listing an e-guide in the wrong category. Can you believe that?!? They sent me an e-mail stating "your account has been indefinitely suspended." They claim listing an e-guide opens the door for feedback fraud. I've had one negative feedback in ten years from a deadbeat bidder. Go figure.. I hope they die a horrible death and all their employees and CEO's burn in hell!!! Is that hate enough for you?
Like I always say... The only one making any money on Ebay is Ebay!!!! They suck.
I have never paid an ebay charge. I put up a sellers account and then close down my credit card. Run as many auctions as I can and let ebay suspend my account. I build up other items and then set up another account. Screw ebay, they have no regard for my well bing I will not have any for theirs.
I just got my first big slap in the face from ebay. They've decided to let me suffer the "neutral Feedback" claiming my items as fake and then trying to extort money from me to remove it. The bidder didn't receive the item let alone pay for it and they have a history of this behavior over a year. So I did the work of filing the complaint with Ebay for feedback abuse and they had the nerve to tell me that the fraudulent and blatent use of their feedback system to extort money from me didnt meet their requirements for removal. WTF is wrong with them.
I was perplexed about E-Bay. (My feedback is at 91, 97%). There was a stretch last month with 5/10 auctions being non-paying. Lately though, it's gotten better with prompter payment. Like most, I am exclusively a seller (laptops, cell phones, toner, software, etc.)
I do feel I am not getting top dollar like I would a year or 2 ago. If I do, its rare. My profit margin is high, but I'm upset about FVF and Paypal fees. They are a thorn in the side.
E-Bay is still solid, but like AOL/Compuserve I believe it's heyday is long gone. I have to monitor my auctions non-stop and answer ridiculous questions 24/7. It's a full-time responsibility~
Ebay does suck i just recently got suspend because of few seller's saying it was the wrong product. So ebay can kiss my white ass!!! Hey if anyone out there has some good auction sites let me know Toyotaman76@msn.com
I had feedback on Ebay near 100% -.03% on over 3200 sales. I couldnt believe how bad they gotten until Paypal refunded something the buyer should have paid for and Ebay recalculated feedback ignoring how long you been with them. I told the truth in the forum how it hurts everyone including Ebay and the seller this stuff they pull, next minute they suspended me with reason of non responsive seller, which is great cause the lawyer loves it.
I can't figure out what the hell ebay is doing? They try to get sellers to build up there business with them and then they can just shut it down for the most pathetic of reasons.
We tried selling a couple of times on ebay but we ran into problems with grey market sellers (ebay tolerates unethical sellers because it benefits them) and they (they being paypal but now one in the same) froze our assets for almost a month..
Let me say that again... THEY FROZE our money and we couldn't get to it. They said it was fraud protection and it was ...quote "you guys are a victim of your own success" meaning we sold so much in such a short amount of time that it triggered a flag. Then the endless requests for documents began including invoices from my supplier and all sorts of other information. Of course it was also "misplaced" so we had to do it all over again. I wonder how much paypal/ebay makes on interest with this little scam? Keep in mind our feedback was 100% and no one had complained about not receiving their product. Absolutely amazing... But it was a wake up call and told us not to build up a significant ebay business. We just sell junky ass returns on there now.
And their fees? Phuck that...they are outrageous.
We have a large Amazon business and they only thing I liked about Ebay was the feedback system. Idiot buyers don't do what we call "drive by shootings" feedbacks like they do on Amazon. I promise you that 85-90% of our negative feed back on Amazon is PURE CRAP or Lies.
We get negative feedback for things like "postal service left my package on porch and my dog chewed it up - seller wouldn't replace" 1 out of 5
or...
"seller uses UPS to ship..this is not a responsible shipping method"
or
"box used to ship product was too big for product" (we used a USPS smallest sized priority mail box)
I am not kidding that is the kind of crap that goes on in feedback on Amazon.
The only good thing about Ebay that I ever saw - over Amazon that is.. is that buyers couldn't just lie about feedback if they cared at all about their own feedback. It was sort of a check and balance.
What really sucks is that now a LOT of crappy ass ebay sellers are moving over to Amazon because Ebay has gotten so bad. So we are seeing an "ebayization" of Amazon, grey market sellers, people doing bullshit stuff in listings, selling a $100 product and happy to make $5 doing it. (no legit business can stay in business pulling that crap - usually shady Ebay sellers hustling used crap out of their garage)
I host my web business at Channel Advisor and my account rep is telling me that ALL of their ebay sellers are trying to figure out ways to get off of Ebay. I have a friend that is at infopia (another large Ebay solution provider) and he says his guy at infopia is telling him the same thing!
WTF is ebay doing? I simply dont'get it. Do they figure that most of the people that rely on Ebay are stupid and they will continue to put up with it? I honestly can figure it out...and what is so funny is ebay tried to spin all these changes as beneficial to the seller...LMFAO...did you see how they tried to talk about listing fees decreasing? Do they not think sellers can see through that crap???????????
I don't really care what ebay does because we don't really derive any revenue there at all. It is just a flea market for our returns (hello craigslist) but I look at it and go WTF...why would I want to try to increase my business there? And that is what baffles me so much about what ebay is doing. I don't want any part of it and I feel sorry for sellers (professional sellers) that earn thier living with ebay. Sorry guys.
I have a friend that is a business broker, basically he tries to list and find buyer for business owners that want to sell their business.
He told me he has seen an unusual amount of EBAY businesses inquiring about the selling process for their business...what does that tell you?
Ice Cream Man recently tried to auction off a sponsorship to help give away free ice cream and ebay shut it down for perplexing reasons.
Read the story here:
http://www.icecreamman.com/article/detail/sponsor-auction-update
And Digg it here to bring more awareness and help get ebay to realize its mistakes (hopefully):
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Ebay_Doesn_t_Like_Free_Ice_Cream
eBay sucks because people suck, and eBay is a huge corporation that doesn't give a crap about anything now but paying their hoards of over-paid corporate slug-types.
eBay COULD continue improving - instead it has just grown more insulated from buyers and sellers, and more complicated and cumbersome.
My biggest gripe about eBay, which I don't use anymore, is that sellers ALWAYS rip off buyers who actually want to purchase multiple items from them. Look, if you are a seller, you should be treating customers who want to buy multiple items like GOLD. But no, you greedy pricks tack on outrageous shipping and handling charges.
Screw you ! I'll just order stuff from someone who knows how to treat customers !
EBAY & PAYPAL BLOWS!!
I have been a user on ebay for over 7 years. The bigger they become the WORSE they become. Constant FEE increases, screwing the sellers in every way, and constant new rules and limitations. Not to mention how paypal will freaking just FREEZE your damn money when a buyer makes the slightest whimper. They don't even TRY to get the buyer to work things out before they just put your money on hold. Now, they let buyers just leave you a negative feedback and sellers can't do anything about it. Ebay is GREEDY and will only allow sellers to use paypal so that they can CONTROL your ENTIRE business and make even MORE MILLIONS off of sellers hard work. I am completely fed-up with taking crap off of ebay and I will NEVER BUY OR SELL there again. The only way we can make ebay feel the pain is if we ban together and all STOP BUYING & SELLING there. Maybe those LOSERS & SCAMMERS at ebay & paypal will listen to peoples complaints . EBAY& PAYPAL SUX'S BIG TIME
I've been on eBay for 5 years and I'm honest in my transactions. I have 100% feedback with glowing reviews.
That is possibly coming and end thanks to one of eBay's millions of dishonest buyers taking advantage of the anti-seller feedback system.
I sold a ceramic collectible toy bank that had never been opened or used. I offered insurance. Seller didn't want to pay for it. I lost my ass on the deal as shipping and fees and more fees and paypal fees left me with a whopping profit of 4 bucks. The buyer has a 98.6% rating on 146 transactions.
So I get this message about how there was a very huge crack in the item that I did not describe in my listing and how he was not too happy with it. How was I supposed to know. It was in a sealed box, never opened. I explained in the listing.
I replied that I would never ship out something defective and that I would gladly refund his money and pay to have the item shipped back to me. Knowing I'd lose money but wanting to see if this guy was drunk or something.
He then changed his story in the 2nd email and said "hairline" and that if his mother didn't object to it as it was a gift to her it would be no problem.
I told him to keep me informed and that I would honor the refund and payment to ship the item back to me.
Then came an email that can be summed up in the words HOLDING MY FEEDBACK HOSTAGE.
He wants me to let him keep the item but refund his money. He won't email me a picture of the defect. And as he pointed out he'd "hate to have to leave negative feedback due to my item not being described in truth."
This is C R A P P O L A. I'm thinking of leaving the mandatory positive feedback with the message "I'm positive this buyer is a scam artist".
there are plenty of other auction sites. in fact www.whyebayblows.com has a list of top alternatives for ebay. thats actually how i found this site. no other sites have the crazy fees like ebay but there are fees on some...
add me to the growing list of unhappy eBay sellers- I've been a member for 10 years now, and have sold various items for a friend with a small local baseball card store, occassionally items of my own, and most recently, items for the charity organization I volunteer with. (oh yeah- don't tell eBay that we've been making money for our national charity---without paying eBay's greedy fees to their own "charity" administrators).
Now that I can't leave honest negative or neutral feedback for a less-than-honest buyer, I'm left to wonder who's really running this show? AND- now add the PayPal conspiracy- you HAVE to accept THEIR payments and upgrade your account (which was once touted as a "free service") so that they can collect petty fees on every transaction.........that's my final straw. I won't be selling on eBay until someone cleans up this filthy house. There has to be a viable option somewhere- we sell our items on Craig's List too- but the eBay/PayPal monopoly is still such a powerful entity. Fortunately, I don't try to make a living on eBay- pity the people who do, and are getting nickeled and dimed to death by both eBay and PayPal. I definitely think a boycott is in order.
Ioffer is the biggest site besides ebay with the most items offered after Ebag. They will also let you bring over your Ebag feedback. I left Ebag after being suspended for 5 lies in a month in neg feedback. Ebag says feedback extortion is not a reason to have a neg feedback removed. I offer 100 percent money back and still buyers leave a neg and dont return items. One guy wanted to keep his item and wanted a refund, I said ship back he left a neg that I could not refute! All my items are free shipping yet my 5 star rating shows less than 5 total stars for shipping price! I have seen people that sell E books etc with the same less than 5 stars and their items are sent electronically. Ioffer is the only place I see that gives Ebag competition.
Ebay SUCKS big TIME. The founder is a stupid persian. What would you expect??? They want all the profit from sellers and buyers just like mollas in Iran and they want to control your business in every possible way. They think people are stupid. I think ebay president and employees are the most stupid people in this planet. They are Dictators. Just like KOmayni, Sadam. They want to use and abuse you and if you have done a minor fault, they will kill you.
Their new system reminds me of the current iranian regime.
They suspended my account indefinitly just becuase I left a positive for a buyer and told her that she is a lier. She claimed that she send money that I have never recived and then left a negative feedback convinently.
Ebay has so many cheap buyers that want nothing but your item for cheap and even if they won the item for a bid higer, they still leave a negative feedback for you. For some reason, leaving feedback for sellers started to be more comfotable for any nonsense reason. DOWN WITH EBAY. I would love to see this site closed.
Maybe you morons should stop blaming eBay and blame the members who leave you the Feedback comments. It's the stupid members that force eBay to change their policies.
I Like Chicken!
Ebay is horrible. PLEASE - someone create a viable alternative!!!
I reduced the amount I list on ebay because of their horrible policies, the worst being the new feedback policies. I sell automotive parts and I had someone leave me a negative feedback because they wanted me to pay for the installation on their vehicle. His feedback states that "he is out money". I can't even reply to the feedback to let potential customers know he is out the money to the body shop he hired to do the install.
Ebay backs him up and I can't do a thing about it. I pay them the listing fees and the final value fees and they don't do a thing to help.
try ioffer.com
quickly becoming the #2 after ebay. And they don't charge to list any items, they only charge if your items sell which is great who want to take a risk on an ebay fee if an item will never sell in 3-10 days. You can also transfer you auctions and feedback rating over to ioffer as long as your ebay account is not suspended.
I been selling lp records for 15 years, over a year ago i was told about audiogon.com i had a jimi hendrix 13 lp box set on ebay 3 times, no luck. couldn't even get 75.00 for it. i posted it on audiogon and it sold for 197.50 on 1st try. i've since racked up 1000s of sales and 2200feeds. i still use ebay, but only part time. There are hundreds of sites out there like audiogon which specialize in a specific category and have the true serious buyers on them. go to google or aol keywood and type in auction go to like page 10 or 20 and you will discover cool sites.
I found sites specializing in tropical fish/beach items/witchcraft/outerspace/magic/guns/etc. LOOK AND YOU SHALL FIND!!!
Ebay also arbitrarily cancelled me and refused to give me a backable reason why they decided I had 6% buyer dissatisfaction. No matter how bad the evidence I showed they were wrong, they just invented new reasons. If you care to read the whole story, it is here: http://www.the334thjoeco.com/ebaysucks.htm
More importantly at this point, if you are like me and attract many customers through word of mouth or because you sell specialty stuff you can advertise on forums or other sites, then you can sell on your own website for less than the cost of Ebay fees. I paid $25 for my site through hosting anyway, and it was $20 more to get a store. My Ebay store was costing me $15 plus fees, so having my own store is cheaper and I still get everyone there though word of mouth customers on the forums. And Ebay can burn. When their stock price drops through the floor, I will throw a party!
If you sell western stuff try www.wildwestbids.com. I'm hanging my hat there for awhile....
Yes, Its very true, Ebay and paypal sucks, but still too many unemplyments use to sell in ebay, I think this thire advantage as in this world even sell knows its sucks, they do not have any other option may be.
Also, ioffer.com they are big sucks
they freeze account with out any problem and never hear and consider reinstament applications.
very bad
Man I've had freinds that were put out of business because paypal was protecting scamming buyers. Dudes would receive products and say they didn't get it. Or they'd cancel a card payment because their kid used it and claimed they sent it back. Or say they don't want a $5 product no more so they want the whole order $500 refunded. Etc etc. paypal didn't care what proof my friends had they refunded the shit.
Ebay funds are retarded and their rules with paypal etc are getting more and more rediculous i'm about to stick with craigslist from now on.
Well I hate ebay and especially paypal. They ruined my business about 6 months ago and shut me down. I just got back onto ebay and thought I did the right thing by opening my own merchant account and avoiding paypal all together. Turns out ebay doesn't like my third party merchant account. I posted a ad for a baby einstein dvd set and twice now they have removed my listing for 1st time copyright infringement. So I redid the pictures and eliminated the ad to nothing but bare bones. next time its now trademark infringement. Now I have looked at all the 40+ other ads for the same product and they look identical to mine right down to the picture. Except their ads dont get taken down. And after eliminating every possible excuse they could have it comes down to the only difference between my ad and others is PAYPAL. So they say you can use other payment sources but they really dont mean it. They might as well say paypal is required. These bastards are gonna get there day....as for me I am going to www.ola.com or onlineauctions.com. They seem to be starting to really get hopping over there and you dont pay for listings. Time to rally and support this organization. Hell I even saw guns up for auction. Try doing that on ebay.
Buying an item such as a Nokia 6133cell phone just do a search on Google as "Nokia 6133 cell phone -ebay"
That's right minus (-) Ebay. There are 1000 of other site that you can buy almost anything.
Stay clear for Ebay/ Paypal.
I've been trying Wigix, so far its ok. I update as much as I can on my blog. =)
yeah! GOODBYE EBAY !
snipers who won't pay...
credit card scammers...
merchants that ship something that wasn't in the picture....
most everybody cheats , except the morons who beat you up on an auction. they wait a week to pay and then start deluging with "can you ship it express for free, i need it tommorow..."
it was okay for years, but now it's just a bunch of crooks and cheap creeps.....
While the feedback changes are total BS and dilute the value of being a good buyer, the real problem is eBay is using revenue management consultants since they have totally lost touch with people who LIKE TO BUY at auction....All of the FEE INCREASES (total charged for selling) are Outrageous -- they have gone up by over 50% from 2 years ago.....BOYCOTT Ebay now and make teh world a better place.....
visit www.ebayrejected.com for good informatin on getting back on ebay after a suspension
There's a site Random Plaza that is designed to fix all problems with eBay and other community marketplace websites. randomplaza.com
Read the features. Will be good if I can get other people to actually post listings on it (which is free). As it is I can't buy advertising till I have a lot of products and I don't have time to list 10,000 items myself.
ok well I have to add to this discussion. I have been a seller on ebay for about 5 years. I've never had a problem initially with feedback or anything. 100% and high DSR's. I haven't sold anything on ebay for about 6 months and come back to find that sellers can't leave negative feedback to buyers anymore who don't pay. Initially I was hesitant to list again, but later figured who cares, I never had a problem, I am a good honest seller, I package well, ship really fast, etc., Boy was I wrong! First problem came up with item#1- "Threelac sealed". I bought this for my autistic son as a buy it now off another seller and immediately realized I bought the wrong item- I was supposed to get him "Fivelac". Within minutes I contacted seller of my error, I was told by seller "sorry it already shipped" (which is IMPOSSIBLE since it was THANKSGIVING DAY-NO MAIL!) LOL.. so I said to myself, forget it, I'll just resell- which I did. Again, this was SEALED. I listed and resold it the same week I got it and shipped it to buyer same day priority. A day after she rec'd it, she emails me with "Hi, thanks for the quick shipping but the product reeks of cigarette smoke and even the sealed inner packets smell like smoke please let me know how you will resolve this".... I emailed her back with "Hi. I am sorry that you had this problem with something I sold. I do not smoke and this is a non-smoking household with an asthmastic little boy and another little boy with low-functioning Autism. If you aren't happy with your product, please send it back to me (with a tracking number) and I will immediately refund your full purchase price and shipping charges".
She emailed me later saying "oh I don't have time to take trips to the PO why don't you just give me a partial refund and we'll call it even" I responded with "I can't do that, but I will give you a full refund when I get the product back".. she then said 'oh it's no big deal' My point, if it's no big deal, why bother me and leave me worried with the retaliation of negative feedback??
2nd item- a sterling silver necklace marked 925 Made in Italy- I got this as part of an inheritance (I got 2 actually)which is why I decided to sell one on ebay, with free shipping. Sold for $5.50. I shipped same day (in a snowstorm mind you), with delivery confirmation. Buyer contacted me the day she got it "I got the necklace today but I would like a refund or replacement because there were several kinks in it and it was packaged poorly"
My response - "I apologize for this problem, however I packaged the necklace in a foam jewelry box, wrapped that in bubble wrap, and then mailed in a bubble mailer. The pictures of the item are posted still on ebay and many close-up shots with no kinks, I don't have others to replace it and I felt the packaging was more than adequate. I made nothing on this sale after ebay fees, final value fees, cost of bubble mailer, bubble wrap, and postage. If you're unhappy with your purchase, please send it back to me with a tracking number and I'll refund you the full purchase price".
Her response "oh it's alright I fixed it" .. I know in both situations that the buyers are scammers. I've put them on my blocked buyer list, but who really knows if they'll just get another account and start bidding again? So I'm done with ebay. I cancelled both my seller and buyer accounts, ebay CALLED me up and even sent me a $25.00 card to stay with them. I turned around and sold the $25 card on craigslist for 20.00. I still have my paypal acct if/when I decide to use it in the future (not with ebay) and I'm sad and happy at the same time. This is really all a shame. I get that there are malicious sellers, but what about the lying malicious buyers? Big deal, they "might" get an unpaid strike against them, and nothing happens to them. What if I just started bidding on items randomly and didn't pay? Nothing will happen to me. Sucks all around.
Viagra is the trusted treatment for male impotence problems. Online Viagra resource containing quality information on viagra and Erectile Dysfunction. http://www.viagracare.com
ebay is a sad state of affairs..there stock has plummeted..sellers are leaving daily and buyers are as well..the team of chimps running that site really ruined a good thing..all because of greed..now what? do i have to become a drug dealer to make some extra cash?
Hello my name is Jerry Whitney and along with my wife India, we are the founders of www.efleaa.com. This site began out of a necessity to get away from the never ending changes at ebay we were experiencing as a seller and buyer.
We had dreamed of a site to where there were no listing fees, and low final value fees, after paying ebay huge amounts of our hard earned money every month.
A site to where you could interact with sellers and buyers live and not have to play email tag with them.
Yes, a site to where we were as important as the huge power seller was in the eyes of the site owner.
A site to where we could list our items like we wanted and not be dictated to, like the items were not ours but the site owner's property, but most of all a site to where we could once again feel the simplicity and fun of online selling and buying.
So, we set out on a course to find such a site and after much searching we realized that most ebay alternative sites are really out just to build up a big base and have the glory of owning a famous site, and really how can you run an online auction site with out being a part of one such site as ebay and know what both sellers and buyers would like to see on a site.
That leads us to the founding of efleaa.com last summer, boy we wish we could have just found the site we were looking for instead of beginning our own.
I found that the first auction software was a total waste of money, along with the ones that first hosted my site.
So, after finding the right host and right software, we went forward with our dream efleaa.com, the name comes from flea markets that we have used in the past, we loved the face to face bartering in the booths, hence the name efleaa( eflea was already taken) and that's why we call our stores booths and have a barter box (chat box) on every items listing page for buyers and seller to interact in real time with each other if they choose to do so, they will just click on the online link and away they go,,bartering asking questions and having fun.
That gets me to the next subject of having to do for myself what we could not afford to have others to do for us, we have spent many a day and night tinkering with the theme and ideas we want to implement on efleaa, we have had headaches and heartaches, but our dream is coming to life, but wait a minute now we have to promote the site and optimize it, wow Google where are you when we need you?
So, you ask why is our site different than all the other upstart auction sites, well let me think, no I don't need to think and answer that question. We are efleaa, we are both buyers and sellers, we are the ones who have bought and loved the experience, we are the ones who have bought and been beat like a drum, we are the seller who got a raw deal from a dead beat buyer,we are the sellers who watched our items jump from a dollar to 300 dollars in the last seconds of an auction, we are the ones who have not been listened to by a site owner, we are the ones who wanted to ask a seller a question but the item had already sold before we got an answer,so What We are trying to say is "we are efleaa, we are you".
Great site! lol I would like to invite anyone in the US to my site. Free stores, free listings and much more. www.bigtimeauctions.com
I have been an "ebayer" for almost ten years. My account just got suspended indefinitly for what they say selling fradulant products. What kills me here is that they removed the listings so that the 60 HAPPY customers couldn't leave any feedback, reassuring ebay that indeed the products weren't fradulant.
What I am tired of reading is all this "water cooler" bu**sh*t!!! Everyone complains, everyone says STRIKE, does anyone actually have the nerve to do anything? NO!!! One seller here and one seller there, leaving to sell somewhere else isn't making an impact for sure. Ebay was built on people, sellers, and yet, every seller continues to pay rediculous fees, get rediculous emails from customers 24/7 and when it comes doesn to talking to ebay you can't even get a HUMAN. Like I said, my lawyers make less money then ebay per hour, I can talk to them anytime I want, I've paid ebay ALOT of money for the use of thier site, doesn't that mean I should get to defend myself to a human? No I just get automated emails contantly, with no answers, no resolution. This is one selelr who will stick to my guns, I am finished with ebay and will be thrilled to see someone have enough brains to make a better place to sell, but they better find something better then paypal too cause as we all know they are the SAME company.
Come on people, in this economy your telling me we as the people of the world can't come up with a better system?
Ebay needs to be grounded. Just stop using them. I've closed the FOUR accounts I had with them, they will not get a single dime from me ever again. I would rather have a "real" job thats less frustrating then the tactics of ebay.

Truth is, EBay sucks for both the seller and the buyer. I won't do any business on it ever again.
eBay does tend to mess with people's money, a few of my friends always complained on how eBay took a chunk of their winnings, and that really sucks....
I found ( http://www.ldbidz.com ) and told them to sell there because it's free.
I hope that helps.
I'm beginning to read more and more posts about people upset with ebay. I have some good news for you. With the help of some national radio publicity, some people started an auction site and they are going after the people who have been wronged by ebay. It appears they are gaining ground! This site is getting national attention so hurry and get your items on there now. Their first 25,000 listings are FREE and final value fees are as much as 80% cheaper than ebay's and much easier to understand!! Also you can bring your feedback with you! Read about their Anti-Sniping feature which is very beneficial to Sellers and also buyers. They have lots of other cool features as well. Just go to w ww . JaGetit . com (take out the spaces) http://JaGetIt.com
Look out ebay! Here comes someone who cares about the customer!!!
EBAY IS DEAD. Meg Whitman is a dumb c*nt, and the board of directors is quite obviously a bloody bunch of inept shitheads.
Let 'em rot.
