I don't know; opening up and expanding the story is just going to spoil it, especially if it's mucked up with a lot of schtick. And Jim Carrey is too aggressive a performer for Horton. My wife grinds her teeth every time we've seen a trailer for this as Horton Hears a Who is her favorite Seuss. It does look nice. Did you ever see the old animated short version of Horton? I forget who did it, maybe Warner Bros. It was good, not Jones/Seuss Grinch good, but good enough. And that's my uneducated opinion.
My older brother gave me a pair of boxer shorts that had Horton on them and they said, "A Person is a Person, No Matter How Small!"Everyone thought it was funny, but now I have a Horton complex!I think the movie will be okay, but Jim Carrey is not the right voice. I like the old animated version better, but I would have liked to seen the book remain a book.
